Great beer and incredible food with a Southern craft focus.

Western North Carolina is known for its love of food and passion for great craft beer. At our Mills River Taproom and Restaurant you’ll find an abundance of both. Visit the Taproom to sample one of our 23 beers on tap, many produced just a few feet from the restaurant. Beers are accompanied by artful, chef-driven food focused on small plate, sharable, whole animal and farm-to-table dishes sourced mainly from local suppliers. While you’re here, grab a beer and head outside to our Back Porch and Beer Garden to take in the views of the beautiful forest or stroll through our Mills River Estate Garden. We use the homegrown vegetables and herbs for our restaurant and small-scale pilot brewery.

Tropical Torpedo

Inspired by the island life, we created an IPA completely disconnected from the mainland. We used our one-of-a-kind Hop Torpedo to deliver an intense rush of hop flavor and the lush aromas of mango, papaya, and passionfruit with every sip. Enjoy our tropical twist on the American IPA.

Grisette d' Orge

Grisettes were originally brewed as a refreshing drink for Belgian workers exiting the coal mines. These rustic ales—like a lower alcohol cousin to the saison—are made to be refreshing, with a light lemony malt body, zesty hops and the signature spice character of a Belgian yeast strain.

Sidecar Orange Pale Ale

This beer has a pop of bright orange flavor that emphasizes the natural citrus-heavy character of Cascade, Equinox and Mandarina hops. Brewed with orange peel added directly to the kettle, and all the classic hop flavor you'd come to expect from our all-new take on the hop-forward fruit beer.

Otra Vez

Otra Vez is a tangy twist on the nearly extinct gose style. It combines the zip of prickly pear cactus with a hint of grapefruit for a bright and refreshing finish.

Session Rye

This easy-drinking session ale is brewed with a portion of rye malt to give it a spicy, peppery kick which only enhances its drinkability. The light-bodied ale has a bright hop flavor from the use of citrusy American hops.

Audition Session IPA

Session IPAs are built for those who want a mellow beer, but don’t want to skimp on hop flavor. We finished off our Audition Session IPA with Simcoe hops and dose of our incredibly aromatic farm-distilled wet hop oil for ultra-intense hop aromas of grapefruit and pineapple, tied together in an easy-drinking and approachable IPA.
