Great beer and incredible food with a Southern craft focus.

Western North Carolina is known for its love of food and passion for great craft beer. At our Mills River Taproom and Restaurant you’ll find an abundance of both. Visit the Taproom to sample one of our 23 beers on tap, many produced just a few feet from the restaurant. Beers are accompanied by artful, chef-driven food focused on small plate, sharable, whole animal and farm-to-table dishes sourced mainly from local suppliers. While you’re here, grab a beer and head outside to our Back Porch and Beer Garden to take in the views of the beautiful forest or stroll through our Mills River Estate Garden. We use the homegrown vegetables and herbs for our restaurant and small-scale pilot brewery.

Currently on Tap

Porter

Brewed in the hop-forward American style and featuring a depth of malt flavor and complexity with roasted notes of black coffee and cocoa.

Torpedo Extra IPA

The first beer to feature our “Hop Torpedo”—a revolutionary dry-hopping device that controls how much hop aroma and what kind is imparted into beer without adding additional bitterness.

Kellerweis

A hazy wheat ale—untamed, unfiltered and unafraid. With a full, fruity aroma and notes of spicy clove and banana bread, Kellerweis is truly a unique brew.

Knightro Irish-style Stout

Black in color but light in body with rich caramel and chocolate malty flavors.  It has a creamy mouthfeel and gentle carbonation from the use of a high percentage of Nitrogen instead of carbon dioxide.

Nooner Pilsner

German-style pilsners are the original session beers. Nooner is our version of this classic style, loaded with floral and spicy hop flavor and balanced by a crisp and dry finish.

Bigfoot Barleywine-style Ale

Bigfoot is a beast of a beer, brimming with bold flavors of bittersweet malt and heaps of aggressive whole-cone Pacific Northwest hops.
