Take Back Our Trails

Trail Cleanup

Your Pledge Protects What’s Wild

You love the outdoors, and so do we. Together, let’s clean up our favorite spots, making sure they’re litter-free and healthy for generations to come.

The miles you pledge toward river and trail systems will combine with our 1,000-mile annual commitment that’s part of our Take Back Our Trails program.

Share photos of your cleanup, too, for the chance to win a custom Trail Kit—gear and other essentials for winter adventure. Post your picture(s) to Instagram, tag us @sierranevada, and use #TakeBackOurTrails. We’ll randomly select 3 winners each month.

One of my favorite businesses is the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. They are committed to conservation, sustainability, and quality organic ingredients.

Their California location maintains 10 acres of hops, 100 acres of barley and rotational crops, and two acres of garden. All are certified organic by Oregon Tilth. The company recently added 70 chickens as well. The hops and barley are used in beer production, and the garden and eggs from their chickens are used to create delicious dishes served in their taproom.

Sustainability is a massive part of Sierra Nevada’s business model and a significant company value. Recycling, composting, and water conservation are just a few ways they look out for the environment. Their facility in Chico produces almost 100% of the energy it uses. Their Mills River (NC) brewery was the first production brewery in the United States to be certified LEED® Platinum. And in 2020, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. launched “Take Back Our Trails,” an initiative to encourage hikers to help maintain the paths they use.

Sierra Nevada believes in pushing the boundaries and is a conservation and sustainability leader in the beer industry.
