Barrel-Aged Barley Kolsch
An odd idea struck us one day… Why not take the refreshing qualities of a German-style Kolsch and scale it up for aging in bourbon barrels? It was an intriguing notion, so we brewed a Kolsch with 100% pilsner malt and turned it up to 11, or in this case, 11.7% ABV! The light malt body and clean flavor allow the oaky bourbon notes to shine and make this “kolschwein” dangerously drinkable.
