The Page Brothers

Sunday | Aug. 28, 2pm

Amphitheater | Mills River, NC

Twin brothers Andy and Zack Page have been playing music together for over 30 years. Their shared musical experiences and studies result in a unified sound and unusual affinity whenever they share a bandstand. As the Page Brothers Quintet, the brothers are joined by creative, like-minded sidemen who share the desire to present a diverse program of material that bows to the jazz tradition while looking to the future.
Jazz guitarist Andy Page maintains an active schedule in the Southeast with a variety of jazz and rock ensembles and is currently on the music faculty at Appalachian State University. Festival appearances include the Montreux Jazz Festival, Japan’s Muroran Jazz Cruise, the Dizzy Gillespie Jazzfest in South Carolina and many more. Andy has performed private engagements for former President Bill Clinton and poet Maya Angelou, and has performed informally with jazz artists such as Matt Wilson, Gary Smulyan, Don Braden, Chris Vidala, Jack Wilkins, Jon Metzger and David Baker.
Zack Page has been performing as a professional bassist since the early ’90s. His work with various jazz ensembles, theater companies, and the cruise industry has taken him to all 50 U.S. States, the Caribbean islands, Australia, South America, Europe and the Far East. In a jazz setting, Zack has had the good fortune to play and/or record with Billy Higgins, Cyrus Chestnut, Eddie Daniels and Babik Reinhardt, the son of gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. Following time spent in Los Angeles and New York City, Zack and his family relocated to Asheville, NC where he enjoys a busy freelance schedule with many of North Carolina’s finest musicians.
