Bigfoot is a beast of a beer, packed with bittersweet malt and heaps of aggressive whole-cone Pacific Northwest hops. First introduced in the winter of 1983, Bigfoot is a cult-classic brewed in the barleywine style—strong and robust with the refined intensity of a wine. Bigfoot is prized by beer collectors for aging in cellars. Under the proper conditions, it can develop enticing new flavors and character as it matures.

"Well,, we are working on a vertical from 93 to 2023. Still filling in the holes. Hoping the 93 to 98 still comes thru. That should be the last. gave up on anything earlier. We will have get together within the month. 5 at a time. Blue Cheese for the 3rd 5. Always been a fan. I did have the 2023. Wonderful fresh, fruity bittersweet caramel. Anxious to visit thru the years. Thanks for the follow."
"I haven't tried the vertical Big Foot Ale yet, but the order process and shipping were fabulous and seamless. I have always had the Big Foot whenever it has been released. Looking forward to trying them."
"I gave this to my husband for Valentine’s Day and he loved it!! I was hoping to score the 2011 since I ordered early, but got 2014, 2016, and two later years. Can’t wait for next time! Cheers!"
"Always an awesome result with Sierra Nevada"

"Other than buying Girardin at the farm, I’m not sure there’s a better deal in beer globally than these Bigfoot vert packs. Thanks so much for offering them, sorry the drinking public is foolish enough to make them so readily available."
"I give five stars not just for the beer but for the fact that Sierra Nevada makes it possible to compare various "vintages" of Bigfoot in one package. Brilliant idea. That said, my personal taste buds are not convinced that the beer "improved" over the years, it simply became different. Obviously, "improved" is a subjective judgement. One of my 2011 bottles was, I believe, spoiled. It had become very bitter in an unpleasant way and the beer had a sort of musty, off scent. The second 2011 I opened was much better. But, overall, I can't distinguish much difference between any of the vintages in the carton. Which is not to say they aren't good, they are, indeed, good, but I was expecting a more dramatic change over the years of storage. That's what makes this vertical tasting so interesting in my view. I am going to save a few of each vintage until the 2002 Bigfoot comes out and then compare the aged bottles to a fresh bottle. That should give a pretty good idea of how this beer changes over time. In any case, this was a fun and very educational vertical tasting, well worth the expense. I've been drinking Sierra Nevada beers since 1981 and they have never disappointed me, at least as far as the quality of their beer goes. I am, however, very disappointed that some of my favorite year-round beers are no longer available in my area. I'm talking about the Porter, Stout, and Hefeweizen. I was delighted recently when I was able to get some Pale Bock and Summerfest direct from the brewery. I hope they will make more of these "unobtainium" beers available online in the future. Thanks, Sierra Nevada for making this fun learning experience available to those of us who didn't have the foresight to save some Bigfoot for ageing (or the self-control to not drink the Bigfoot we were supposedly ageing). "I have been a fan of Bigfoot for years and often have cellared it. I've never been able to keep it longer than 5yrs without breaking into a bottle or two......well then it's gone. So this package is ideal for me as most the beers are already well seasoned. Can't wait to get into this and relive some great tasting memories."
