On November 8, 2018, the Camp Fire ignited in the hills above our Chico brewery. The fire devastated our Butte County community and displaced tens of thousands, including nearly 14 percent of Sierra Nevada’s Chico employees. It soon became the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history.
Days after the fire, we established the Resilience Butte County Proud IPA project—a callout for breweries nationwide to join us in brewing a fundraiser beer and donating 100 percent of the sales. More than 1,400 breweries signed up to help, and our suppliers donated ingredients to every participating brewery. Millions were raised directly for Camp Fire relief.
Thank you to our brewing community. Thank you to our suppliers. And thank you to every single customer who pitched in the help us rebuild our Butte County community—one pint at a time.
