DETAILS
Marshall Brown recently released his debut bluegrass album “Another Day”. Recorded in Asheville, NC alongside some of his best bluegrass pals, this album features traditional bluegrass music with a few of Marshall’s original songs sprinkled in. You can find hard-driving banjo songs, crooning duets, and some very fine picking and singing from accomplished bluegrass musicians across the state of North Carolina (Zeb Gambill, John Duncan, Sam Weiss, Jacob Brewer and Sean Newman). The album also features special guests of West Virginia-based guitar and banjo player Jake Eddy and Floyd, VA based bluegrass musician Andrew Small.
The current touring Marshall Brown Bluegrass Band consists of Asheville based musicians John Duncan, Zeb Gambill, Jacob Brewer, and Marshall Brown. Each of these musicians has a unique background of musical influences, but they share a love of traditional bluegrass music. Their influences span from first-generation bluegrass musicians, like Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers, through the 1960s with acts like the Kentucky Colonels and Red Allen, up to Tony Rice and The Bluegrass Album Band. The Marshall Brown Bluegrass Band highlights instrumentation as well as the emotionally charged harmonies of traditional bluegrass music. Join them as they play traditional bluegrass songs and originals off Marshall Brown’s debut album. The album is now available for purchase on Bandcamp.
